If you eat in a dim, peaceful environment, you might be less apt to overeat or eat junk food that will keep you unhealthy and far from your weight loss goals.
Stand Whenever You Can
If you stand, you are burning more calories than when you are sitting. By spending an extra hour per day standing, you will be burning an extra 40 calories per hour. You can try to stand more at work and at home. Standing desks are becoming more and more popular with offices around the country. Instead of lounging in front of the television, take a stand and get up on your feet. By standing, you are burning more calories and increasing your metabolism.
Turn Down Your Thermostat
Enjoy the cool temperature when you are just lounging around the house. Instead of turning up the heater, let the colder air come in and it may help you burn more calories. Your body works harder and uses up more energy when it has to keep itself warm. Don’t grab an extra blanket, enjoy the fresh autumn air and temperatures. Of course, only do this is you are in good health as it can cause some concerns if you are sick.
Buy Some New Workout Gear
Your worn out old clothes might not give you much inspiration to hit the gym each day. If your clothes are uncomfortable, you are less likely to exercise. Buy some new exercise gear and you will be more likely to hit the gym to show it off. Always make sure you have the best fitting shoes for whatever exercise you plan on doing to avoid injuries. Invest in clothes that you will like to move around in and you will be more likely to work out.
